GoVert

a 3D platformer racer for you and your "friends". the tracks are randomly bolted together out of handmade chunks, so nobody gets to memorize anything. you just have to be better.

the movement is the whole game. triple jump, long jump, backflip, side somersault, wall jump chains, ledge grabs, dives, air cancels, all hand-tuned, all chainable, all faster than whatever the track designer intended (the track designer is a random number generator, don't feel bad).

if you've ever long-jumped through an entire Mario level sideways, you already know how to play. your movement is fully client-side too so no rubber-banding. tech is tech, even at 200 ping.

racing: stand on the FIND GAME pad. race whoever's online. throw hammers, rockets, and homing fireballs at people who are winning. item boxes are free because making you collect coins to have fun was a mistake and we fixed it.

not racing: the lobby is a playground brawl. 3 hearts each. lose them all and you're a ghost for 20 seconds while everyone laughs. KO counter on the scoreboard so the laughing can be quantified.

multiplayer: just run the exe, it connects itself. "waking the server" = the free server is stretching, give it a minute, go practice your quick turns. solo works fine offline. 

controls: keyboard+mouse or controller. E to throw your item. R respawns you when a hammer throws you. there's a SUPER JUMP toggle (Select/J) for your little sibling — or for you, no judgment.

very early demo. tuned by feel, playtested by children with no mercy. if the movement feels bad tell me, that's the one thing I actually care about.
